In 2017 Prospect launched the Global Musical Theater Initiative.
Through this new program, we will build artistic bridges over international boundaries.

In 2015 the company made its international debut in Italy, performing the original musical Death for Five Voices at the Castello di Gesualdo (pictured at right) and the Teatro Carlo Gesualdo.  In 2016, founding company artists were invited to present their work in France, by the Paris-based organization Broadway au Carré.  In 2018 we worked with Broadway au Carr
é once again to develop our new bi-lingual musical, THE HELLO GIRLS.

Growing out of these valuable experiences, Prospect is working to further promote artistic creativity through international exchange, and to develop expanded audiences for new musicals around the globe.  The Global Musical Theater Initiative (GMTI) aims to create a network of international artists working in the form of musical theater, and to foster artistic dialogue among these artists.

We also hope to seek out new audiences.  Most American musicals which reach international audiences are large scale, commercial projects.  We will work to find innovative ways to share emerging and smaller-scale American works abroad, and to actively engage in collaboration with international partners, finding new ways to develop, present and produce new musical theater pieces overseas.  Through the GMTI, we will connect musical theater artists and audiences, building support and increasing visibility for musical theater in the international arts community.
