Mary Elizabeth Smith, Dark Nights/ Literary Associate

received her Bachelors of Arts in Theatre degree from Centenary College of Louisiana in 2004. In 2006 she was awarded her Masters of Letters degree in Shakespeare and Renaissance Literature in Performance from Mary Baldwin and the American Shakespeare Center. She then moved to New York in order to attend The New School University’s New School for Drama where she is currently a third year Masters of Fine Arts in Directing candidate. Her directorial credits include large-scale, high-energy illusion shows, various Shakespeare productions, and numerous new and published works. Her most recent production, David Hare’s The Blue Room, recently played at 59 E. 59 Street’s Theater C.
